Engineered, designed, and tested in accordance with the demanding standards of Miami-Dade's High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) TAS Protocols and the Florida Building Code (FBC). The 1-3/4″ x 4-1/2″ (6" optional available) system features screw spline assembly and is designed to permit sections to be pre-assembled and glazed to greatly reduce field labor. The 3400 Series is glazed with 1-5/16″ laminated, insulated glazing infill. An optional 1" IGU (3450) for non-impact application is also available. Trulite’s Resistor Entrances are easily integrated into these systems. Trulite has the unique ability to produce and furnish the complete impact-resistant system and glazing, which is an added convenience for the building team. The design of these systems has become the standard for storefront systems in high-velocity hurricane zone projects.

1-3/4″ × 4-1/2″ (min) Front-Set Framing – Impact-thermal storefront framing with wet-glazed, exterior structural silicone glazing. Optional 6" Mullions for high span application available.

Glazing Options – 1-15/16″ insulated/laminated impact resistance glass units with Saflex PVB, or SentryGlas interlayers.

PERFORMANCE

Air Infiltration (ASTM E283) – Does not exceed 0.01 cfm/ft² at 6.24 psf static pressure.
Water Resistance (ASTM E331 / AAMA 501) – No uncontrolled water infiltration at 20 psf.
Structural Performance (ASTM E330 / TAS-202) – Maximum allowable deflection of L/180 at 1.5× design load without glass breakage or permanent deformation.
Impact Resistance (TAS-201, TAS-203, ASTM E1996, ASTM E1886) – Meets large and small-missile hurricane impact standards, complying with High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) requirements.
Thermal Performance – U-factor as low as 0.43 Btu/hr-ft²-°F (NFRC 102); Condensation Resistance Factor (CRF) Frame = 56, Glass = 62 (AAMA 1503).
Acoustic Ratings (ASTM E90) – STC = 33; OITC = 27 for improved sound control.
